Why We Often Fail When We Set Big Goals and What Actually Works

Meeting and fulfilling grandiose goals is extremely satisfying and something that sets are on the path of pursuing the next great goal in our life. The truth is that we often fail to reach such goals and disappointment is often directly proportional to the size of that goal. This failure can be highly demoralizing with long term consequences in our behavior, such as always choosing path offering the least amount of resistance. The secret to achieving success is to think about your lofty goals in smaller, individual checkpoints that are easier to obtain and require less effort.
