Start Your Day Right with the Magic Morning Mindset

By Margaret

When we think of self care many persons will mention baths, manicures, and a movie night on the couch that is cozy. But the author believes that self care is all these and something much deeper and true. People should see self care as something that is imperative for them to undertake; as something that should not be at the lowly bottom of the to-do list but at the top priority. That is why self care is now fuel and fire for him. He always claims time on his calendar for self care like for play and self reflection which helps him a lot. This has helped him to be connected to himself and understand the things that he really needs and has to say yes to and those he doesn’t need and has to say no to. To him self care is about cleaning the mind of the dirt that it has accumulated and removing the cobwebs that burden it. It is about going to the gym. It’s about taking timeout from some responsibilities to have time alone for oneself. And the miraculous thing that happens when one engages in self care is that it helps that individual to be more patient and loving towards friends and family.

Key Takeaways:

  • Self care has so many features that go with it and some of them include manicures, baths, and nights spent on the couch watching a movie.
  • Self care right now tends to sit at the bottom of people’s to-do list and that is lowly because it should be given top priority.
  • Self care is defined by the author as the process of cleaning out the dirt in her mind and removing the cobwebs that are burdening it.

“For me, self-care has become my fuel and my fire. When I claim time on my calendar on a regular basis for things like play, sister time, and self-reflection, I stay in connection with myself and the things I actually want to say yes and no to.”
