Our ideas, beliefs, and our attitudes tend to be quite fixated once we reach a certain age. Conditioning ourselves to change these grounded traits can be hard without the proper skills. Developing high amounts of self awareness can help us develop what is called a growth-oriented mindset that is more open to change and enlightenment. Helping yourself engage in these changes is important due to the dangers that a fixed mindset can trigger such as living in a constant state of dissatisfaction.
