The Bethel School district has started using Brain Breaks after their Healthy Schools Team found research that talked about how focus was reduced after 20 minutes of sitting. Their blood tends to gravitate to the lower extremities, making it more difficult to learn.
Brain Breaks are essentially a couple of minutes of calisthenics to get blood moving as well as both sides of the brain.
