If You Snooze, You Lose…

By Staff Writer

sleep, sleep deprivation

Many of our lifestyle habits impact the health of our brains:

  • What we eat
  • How much exercise we get
  • Our stress levels
  • How much sleep we get on a regular basis

There has been a lot of research done about how sleep deprivation can impact our brains, but you may not have correlated that to your relationship with the SNOOZE BUTTON!

If you hit that button over and over again, you may want to watch this great video from ASAP Science that talks about how hitting the snooze can make you feel worse than just getting up!

That does make you reconsider, doesn’t it?  I’m going to set my alarm for 18 minutes later when I go to bed tonight! How many times do you hit the snooze button in the morning?

Getting to sleep faster may help you lose the need to sleep longer in the morning. Sometimes having a pleasant background noise playing while you are going to sleep can help you to do just that. This device by Homedics has 6 different nature sounds: ocean, summer night, rain, thunder, white noise and brook.
