Listening to Boredom

By Peter Julian

May 9, 2020

Boredom is something that is probably happening a lot right now, with people having to be in their homes for the majority of the time. This can take a toll on people, but, it is important for you to listen to your boredom. One thing that your boredom might be trying to tell you is that you need to aim a little higher and focus on something that is important to you. If you are building a puzzle and it seems too simple, your mind is going to wander looking for something more stimulating.

Key Takeaways:

  • If you’re one of the many who are continuing to lay low at home, you may also be wondering how to keep from feeling bored.
  • If you’re feeling mentally wiped out and you can’t focus, try relieving the burden on your mind by taking on a smaller challenge.
  • We have the ability to tell ourselves a different narrative and actively look for how what we’re doing or learning now will serve us later.

“if we listen to boredom when it arises, we can gain useful insights about what’s happening for us”
