By Peter Julian

A lot of people in the world struggle with self esteem issues and beating themselves up mentally. Self compassion is something that people can use to combat those negative thoughts. Self compassion in simplest terms if just treating ourselves nicely and realizing our strengths rather than focusing so much on our negatives. There has been research done that has shown self compassion is very good for our well being and is an even better motivational tool than fear is. Get rid of your negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones and over time you’ll see a major difference.

Key Takeaways:

  • Instead of listening to your inner self-critic, treat yourself with compassion.
  • Fear puts your body in a state of insecurity, triggering your fight or flight response.
  • Remind yourself that your inner critic voice is only a thought and that it isn’t necessarily telling you the truth.

“Often called the “inner critic,” this negative, self-critical voice can undermine how we feel about ourselves, our goals, and our effectiveness in life and work.”
