How to Integrate Your Brain to Maximize Your Potential

limbic system, neocortex, stress response

3-layers-of-the-brainThis organ we call the “brain” determines so much about the quality of our lives! Do you know that in a way, your brain is three brains layered together? These “layers,” the oldest, primitive “reptilian brain,” the higher “limbic system,” and the newest, largest part, the “neocortex,” together reflect the evolution of the human brain.

Here is another important group of three: In order to achieve a state of fulfillment, the human being must develop in three ways: the physical level, the personal character, and finally, he must achieve spiritual enlightenment.

How do these relate? Our brain stem, our pre-rational, subconscious brain which is mostly suppressed in modern life, is like a hidden conductor of the great symphony that makes up the intricate systems of our body. Furthermore, I think of the brain stem as “The seat of enlightenment,” since it can be utilized to reconnect not only the three parts of our brain and body, but allow us to experience our own energy and connection to “oneness.”

I developed a simple and effective technique many years ago that helps the various functions of the three layers of the brain to work together and awaken you to how much power you truly possess! This exercise focuses on the most basic part of the brain, the brain stem, which governs bodily function and orchestrates the stress response within your body. Called “Brain Wave Vibration,” it uses repetitive, rhythmic vibration to tone down the activity of the neocortex, activate the limbic system, and allow you to connect with the life energy that resides in the brainstem. This frees you from your thinking mind, as if in meditation, and allows your brain stem to integrate with the neocortex and restore a state of equilibrium in your body.

I believe that everything in human existence is part of the great unfolding of consciousness in the universe. Brain Wave Vibration is all about getting connected! Begin with a very positive intent, giving attention to the experience of energy in your body as you practice the technique. Allow the sense of “oneness” to reveal itself. Let go of thoughts and tension and allow yourself to go to this place of oneness; the quiet core at the center of your being. It is from this place that you can begin to re-create yourself, maximize your potential, and create the life you really want to live!

Try this simple version now!

Close your eyes and gently rotate your head left to right, right to left repeatedly, in a rhythmic fashion as you concentrate on the movement of your head. Focus solely on the natural rhythm that rises for one or two minutes. When you are finished, notice any differences in how you feel. Are you more relaxed? Has the tension left your shoulders? Does your vision seem clearer?

For a more complete experience, allow the vibration to travel into your shoulders, neck and down into your body, hands, and feet until it feels like you are dancing to your own rhythm from deep inside yourself. Tap your body like a drum and smile. When you are finished, breathe in and out. Rub your hands together until warm, and then sweep them over your face, neck, and body.
