How To Stop Measuring Yourself By Comparing with Others

Comparing yourself to others is one of the worst things that you can do. In order to get past this mental block, you should understand that you need to be realistic. If you aren’t as good as someone at a specific subject and they’re putting in much more effort, that’s to be expected. It’s also important to not chase meaningless goals, instead find goals that are close to your heart and spirit and stay motivated to achieve them. Finally, the best thing you can do is compare yourself with the past version of yourself and just try to continually improve yourself each day.

Key Takeaways:

  • It is totally unfair for you to compare yourself to someone who is putting much more effort in on a specific matter than you. Of course there results will be better.
  • Don’t chase meaningless goals and instead create goals that will really fulfill your mind and heart. This will also add motivational towards reaching them.
  • Very simply avoid comparing yourself to others. What people are perceived to be can be very different than who/what they actually are anyway.
