Want more evidence that regular exercise is good for your brain?

Watch this short video about How Exercise Rewires Your Brain by DNews (DiscoveryNews.com) for some of the latest information about exercise.  They share how regular exercise actually causes your brain to reorganize in a way that helps you to handle stress, and anxiety is less likely to get you sidetracked.

If you want to read more about it, you can look at the report from the Journal of Neuroscience on the Princeton University site – http://www.princeton.edu/main/news/archive/S37/28/70Q72/

One of the reasons that regular exercise has this effect on the brain is the production of GABA, a neurotransmitter that counters the more excitatory neurotransmitters involved with the stress response.

There are other things you can so to help increase your production of GABA, such as meditation and oolong tea, but those shouldn’t be a substitute for regular exercise!
