The persuasion aspect reflects on why, in a psychological sense, subliminal messages work.

The perception aspect reflects on how, in a physical sense, the messages work.

Michael asks…

what is subliminal perception?

What is subliminal perception? Do you know any examples?

BrainSpeak answers:

Imagine on a TV commercial for laundry detergent there was an audio track playing in the background in addition to the one you could easily hear. You could hear the additional audio track but just barely. That is, you were unable to distinguish any particular words being spoken. But the fact is your subconscious mind often does hear and process words being spoken that are just below our ability to perceive it consciously. What might the subliminal audio in the commercial be saying? Buy Addido laundry detergent today! Also, a momentary flash on the TV screen might come up with those same words. Too fast to be seen consciously, but still registered by your subconscious mind. That is another example of subliminal perception.
